The Haute-Loire is a perfect region for hiking. You can start with short distances or take a long hiking path (like the hiking path to Santiago de Compostella that passes 100 meter from Le Pinatou). Geocaching

Discover the beautiful Haute-Loire while geocaching! Several caches have been hidden around Le Pinatou and there are 265 caches in the Haute-Loire. You will visit castles, old towns and beautiful landscapes. Go to http://www.mides.fr/geocaching-departement-43-haute-loire to see all the geocaches.

Cycling / mountainbiking

You will find several mountainbike trails in the woods around le Pinatou.

Canoe

You can start a wonderful canoe tour on the river Loire (6,11 and 15 km) at 15 minutes from Le Pinatou (in Vorey). You will find more information in the gîte.

Golfing

Le Puy-en-Velay possesses a 9 holes golf course with a splendid view of the city.

Swimming

The Haute-Loire offers many possibilities of swimming in natural water. Free of charge and ecologic! At 15 minutes you can swim in a lake (with a sandy beach) or in the river Loire. The river Allier also offers plenty of bathing places and what would you say about swimming in a lake in a volcano ? Everything is possible in the Haute-Loire! You may also choose to swim in a pool. At 10 minutes you will find an outdoor pool with chute-de-chute, waterfalls and sunbathing area.

Pedalo/paddle boats

If you go swimming on the lake in la Chaise-Dieu, don’t forget to hire a pedalo for even more fun!

Canopy

A wonderful day out with the whole family: play Tarzan and Jane in the tree tops: action and adventure! Only 10 minutes away from Le Pinatou.

Vélo-rail

In Pradelles, in the south of the Haute-Loire, you can drive a cart on the ancient railway. A unique experience and beautiful views!

The ‘Domaine nordique du Mézenc’ (at a 50 minutes drive) skiing, cross country skiing, a tour in a slegde pulled by huskies, hiking on snow shoes, paragliding, etc. With beautiful views on the surrounding nature!

A unique experience: sitting in a cart and being pulled by huskies, possible in summer and winter, close to Le Pinatou

At only 6 km you can spoil yourself in a spa with sauna and jacuzzi. For more relaxation there are several spas in Le Puy.
